Mapping degrowth together
At the European Social Forum in Malmö, it was decided that we would map the evolving degrowth network on this degrowth wiki.
The idea of Degrowth for ecological sustainability and social equity is spreading. Many movements, associations, groups, institutes, networks support degrowth and develop research, voluntary simplicity, projects, economic theories, civil action, political parties, editions, communications on related themes. Please help us to develop a fair, exhaustive, brief and clear descriptions of all initiatives around degrowth (for sure within democratic and non-violent frameworks).
The wiki is still almost “raw”. It is not intented for debates, for this forums are better. The idea of the wiki is to evolve texts, structures of texts that are acceptable, fair, respectful of diversity and also those building a shared imaginary. The best is if people active describe the national or local networks they know about and present shared visions.
Associated to the Malmö meeting was the idea of social rebirth, post-development, “bem vivir”, we wish to associate degrowth and these concepts, how it will look like remains to be “sculpted” together.
